Ingrid Michaelson is back with her fifth album, Lights Out, and this one is arguably her best. Michaelson invites some friends over on this album as Lights Out comes with duets with A Great Big World, Greg Laswell, Storyman, Trent Dabbs, and Mat Kearney.

The song “Over You” featuring A Great Big World showcases her inner thoughts and sensitivities. Quite frankly, the song is golden and should be played on radio stations around the world.

Michaelson’s first single, “Girls Chase Boys,” is a catchy and happy breakup song. Despite the lyrics, it keeps an upbeat tune that begs to be sung along to.

Her song “Afterlife” is an cheerful song that makes you feel good. It oozes optimism. The chorus punches in the message of optimism with lyrics like, “We are, we are, we’re gonna be alright, we got, we got, we always got the fight in us. And we are, we are, we’re gonna live tonight. Like there’s no tomorrow cause we’re the afterlife.”

Michaelson continues to wow listeners with her beautiful lyrics and her unique tone.
